With the official release of the Nike Zoom KD VI on the horizon, design director Leo Chang sat down with our friends over at Sole Collector to discuss the story behind the first colorway. Dubbed the "Seat Pleasant", this makeup forgoes the traditional Oklahoma City Thunder colors for something more personally connected to Durant. Tracing back to Durant's Maryland upbringing, the first Nike Zoom KD VI release pays tribute to the Seat Pleasant Activity Center, where he honed his craft on the hardwood. Check out the video for more insight from Leo Chang himself.

The low-profile model features many technologies used in previous KD signature sneakers such as Zoom Air cushioning and Flywire, but this time around the ankle is cut lower than ever before. Catering to a quick, explosive style of play, the Nike Zoom KD VI promises to continue the line's benchmark of high-end, yet reasonably priced performance.

The Nike Zoom KD VI "Seat Pleasant" releases this Wednesday. Stick with Sneaker Report for more updates on the KD VI, and head over to Nike iD to customize a pair today for $180.
