The dawn of a new day brought with it another slice of Pete Davidson news, this time of the marriage variety.

Tucked into a new episode of Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart series on Peacock are some remarks from the SNL alum about one day starting his own family, ideally via a legally recognized union, and how losing his 33-year-old dad when Pete was just seven influenced this.

“Since I was a little kid, I was like—since my dad died—I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to have a kid,’” Davidson said in the newly released interview, which previously made headlines on this very site for a different excerpt. “And, like, again, I don’t like saying corny shit [but] the reasoning was because I was like, ‘I don’t want a kid to ever feel like how I feel right now.’ It wasn’t his fault he passed away, but just to be there so someone doesn’t have to feel like that.”

Asked by Hart to clarify if “the idea of marriage” comes in tandem with this desire, Davidson—who’s currently dating Kim Kardashian—said it does.

“100 percent,” the 28-year-old responded. “I mean, that’s the way I hope it goes, yeah.”

Davidson didn’t elaborate on the marriage topic, but in May on The Kardashians, Kim said, “I believe in love. That’s why hopefully there will be just one more wedding for me. Fourth time’s the charm!”

The Hart to Heart discussion moved on to include insight on mental health and how his inner circle has changed in recent years. The Bodies Bodies Bodies actor was also asked to reveal some of his go-to downtime habits, resulting in Davidson revealing he’s started watching the classic 2000s reality series Flavor of Love.

“That’s up there with, like, The Sopranos,” Davidson said.
