It may have taken him over a year, but Jake Paul is finally clapping back at Gigi Hadid.

On Friday afternoon, the YouTube star-turned-boxer attempted to troll Gigi over Zayn Malik’s alleged assault on her mother, writing: “Your ‘rEsPeCtFuL KiNg’ punched your mom in the face.”

The beef between Jake and Gigi goes back to early 2020, when the social media personality took to Twitter to accuse Zayn of being rude during a run-in at a hotel.

“Almost had to clap up Zane from [One Direction] because he is a little guy and has an attitude and basically told me to f*** off for no reason when I was being nice to him,” Jake alleged. “Zane ik you’re reading this … stop being angry cause u came home alone to ur big a** hotel room hahaha.”

Gigi, who was dating Zayn at the time, quickly came to the singer’s defense and referred to Jake as both “irrelevant” and “ugly.”

“Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies ..?” she responded. “Home alone with his best friends like a respectful king cause he has me, sweetie. Unbothered by your irrelevant ugly ass. Go to bed …”

Shortly after Jake’s tweet on Friday, his brother, Logan Paul, took the opportunity to do some trolling of his own.

“Yeah but ur still ugly,” Logan wrote to his brother.

News of Zayn’s alleged assault on Yolanda Hadid broke Thursday afternoon, after the former One Direction singer posted a statement about an altercation he had with one of Gigi’s relatives. Zayn didn’t mention Yolanda by name; however, TMZ later reported he had been accused of striking Yolanda at his home while Gigi was away.

Zayn denied the allegations in a subsequent statement to TMZ, saying he would not provide further details “for the sake” of his and Gigi’s 1-year-old daughter, Khai.

Sources later claimed Zayn and Gigi had called it quits after years of dating, but did not shed any more light on the reported altercation.

“They are not together right now. They are both good parents though,” a Hadid family friend told People magazine. “They co-parent. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandchild.”

Less than a day later, outlets confirmed Zayn had pleaded “no contest” to four counts of harassment against Gigi and Yolanda. Court documents revealed the incident took place Sept. 29 at his Pennsylvania home, where he allegedly demanded Yolanda to stay away from his daughter, before shoving the former reality TV star “into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain.”

Zayn is also accused of calling Gigi on the phone during the altercation, and yelling: “Strap on some fucking balls and defend your partner against your fucking mother in my house.” The documents state he then tried to fight a security guard who was at the scene during the incident.

As part of his plea, Zayn was sentenced to 360 days of probation and ordered to take an anger management class as well as complete a domestic violence program. His sentence could be terminated early if he abides by the conditions for six months.
