This guy looks a bit like Jim Carrey. Sort of, From a distance, maybe.
But apparently he looks enough like the Dumb and Dumber star to make Czech people think he’s the real deal. Somehow, the Carrey imposter managed to convince the Czech Film and Television Academy (CFTA) to let him on stage at their prestigious Česky Lev (Czech Lion) awards in Prague, the day before the Oscars. Once fake Carrey got up there, he didn’t really know what to do— he just fired off a party popper then wondered off.
They wouldn’t even admit they’d been duped to begin with. “Of course the real Jim Carrey was on the stage. I knew that he would come but I did not know what he would do there,” host Lucie Vyborna told a local newspaper. The CFTA have since acknowledged he wasn’t the real thing.
