In what sounds like one of the wisest moves from a network all year, AMC has opened up a writers' room for a potential series from Rashida Jones in which the tired (yet somehow still frequently mined) male sitcom doofus trope is flipped on its head.
Jones' project boasts the working title Kevin Can Fuck Himself, per the Wrap's report. SEAL Team's Valerie Armstrong created the series, which—as the title makes perfectly clear—will explore the secret life of that aforementioned trope's oft-ignored victim: the sitcom wife. Jones will executive produce alongside previous collaborator Will McCormack (A Wrinkle in Time).
AMC is developing the show under its script-to-series method, which means a green light is more than possible (and better be quite likely). Friday's news also brought with it a tentative logline, which goes into a bit more detail on how Jones and company will be flipping the sitcom stereotype into something with many more dimensions:

Next for Jones is this month's update on The Grinch, featuring new music from Tyler, the Creator. She's also set to contribute voice talent to next year's Spies in Disguise alongside Will Smith and Karen Gillan.
