Presumably, someone sophisticated enough to attend a wedding reception at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York would employ that same sophistication when approaching matters of weaponry. Alas, we live in an unjust world — meaning even absolute idiots can wine, dine, and accidentally shoot four other people at the Waldorf-Astoria. Is nothing sacred?
According to ABC News, a wedding reception guest at the luxury hotel was — for reasons entirely unclear and surely never worth explaining — "playing with a gun" when the firearm accidentally discharged, ultimately injuring as many as five people. Of those injured, one reportedly refused treatment while the other four were taken to a nearby hospital. The injuries sustained in the wake of an idiot's idea of a good time are reportedly minor, though the damage to the friendship dynamic of the group is surely (hopefully) forever altered.
Lesson of the day: Don't associate with idiots, even at the Waldorf-Astoria.
