It's no secret that our relationship with fallen starlet Amanda Bynes is a rocky one. We never wanted things to be this way—with the threats of lawsuits, the public insults, the lengthy Twitter rants—but somewhere along the way things just got messed up.

The most recent development in the saga: Shortly after posting that she planned on suing Complex for an article posted about her, Bynes blocked our official Twitter account. Not going to lie, the move stung a little, and got us thinking: Where did it all go wrong? When did our lives become the theme song of Veronica Mars?

Consider this our attempt at getting to the bottom of this Internet mystery—a complete timeline of our relationship with Amanda Bynes.

Bynes Tweets at Joe La Puma (March 2012)

This is how it begins, with a lone tweet: "@jlapuma is fucking hot." Bynes first Twitter has since been deleted, but we nabbed a screenshot of the tweet, directed at Complex's Director of Content Strategy, before it became dust in the virtual wind.

Why did she tweet at Joe? We have no idea.

It's not as colorful as any of her love letters to Drake, but it does end up being the foundation in what becomes a very volatile relationship between Bynes and Complex.

Complex Publishes a Feature on Bynes (April 2012)

Amanda Bynes' recent Twitter updates are among her weirdest ever. But what a lot of people fail to remember is that they had been growing increasingly weird for years before she went the way of LiLo and got her first DUI in Los Angeles back in March 2012. In April, Bynes was just a hilarious Internet presence, so we rounded up her strangest, most entertaining tweets at the time.

The Video Surfaces (April 2013)

Jump to 2013: Bynes posts a video on her Twitter titled, "I'm Sucking On A Sour Patch Kid Listening To Music Getting Ready For Tonight :D." True to its name, that's exactly what she's doing in the video—and we feel a little worried. And so we post saying as much. We wonder if she needs help, or if this is "some intricate, faux public breakdown, Joaquin Phoenix-style."

Bynes Goes Off On Complex and Kid Cudi (April 2013)

Shortly after we post the video of Bynes, she takes to Twitter to slam not only the post, but all of Complex magazine, citing our interviews with Kid Cudi as the reason for her burning hatred. She also slams Kid Cudi, calling him what will go on to become her favorite insult in the world: "ugly." She also insults Aubrey Plaza, our April/May 2013 cover girl—clearly, Bynes is not a Parks and Recreation fan.

Bynes' full message to Complex can be read above.

We Post Another Feature About Bynes: A Twitter History of Her Breakdown (April 2013)

Following Bynes' outburst, we publish a feature chronicling her recent strange Twitter behavior, in an effort to pinpoint, perhaps, where shit started hitting the fan. The feature includes her numerous TwitPics, which capture her constantly evolving hair and her collection of wigs.

Bynes Calls Noah Callahan-Bever, Ernest Baker, and Joe La Puma "Ugly" on Twitter (April 2013)

Once again, Bynes reacts strongly. On Twitter, she calls us out—this time, it's about our looks instead of our journalistic integrity.

The tweet has since been deleted, but Complex editor-in-chief Noah Callahan-Bever managed to nab a screenshot when it was first posted.

Bynes begins by calling all Complex writers "ugly," then proceeds to single out Noah, former Music Editor Ernest Baker, and Joe La Puma, labeling them all with the magic word.

Bynes Continues to Ether Complex Writers on Twitter (April 2013)

Bynes continues her rant in another tweet she posts shortly after the first, once again calling all Complex writers ugly—this time, she also adds "poor" for good measure.

In Response, We Invite Bynes to a Bar for Happy Hour...

Wounded, we invite Bynes to get a drink so that we can talk this out.

Note: The tweet has since been deleted, but Bynes did actually accept the invite, saying that she'll show up if we agree to stop writing about her. But we couldn't make that promise.

...But She Doesn't Show Up (April 2013)

Alas, we drink alone.

We Post a Video of Bynes Dancing In the Streets of NYC (July 2013)

The next shot fired: We post a video of Bynes dancing through the streets of NYC, wearing the same clothes she wore to a court appearance only the day before.

We can't help but note that, despite facing charges of drug possession and being evicted from her NYC apartment for smoking too much weed, she seems happy. We also can't help but note, though, that reports stated she was also dancing during that previously mentioned court appearance, which makes it less hilarious and more worrisome.

Bynes Threatens to Sue (July 2013)

None too happy with the video of her dancing through the streets of NYC, Bynes airs her grievances. She says that the girl in the video is not her (despite having the same tattoo), and—here's where things get dark—that she plans to sue Complex for posting the piece in the first place.

Finally, Bynes Blocks Complex on Twitter (July 11, 2013)

:(

So, that's it. Unfortunately, we're no closer to figuring out what's going on with Amanda Bynes. We hope everything is OK. We'll be here, watching All That YouTube clips. If you ever want to talk, Amanda, we'll be around.
