For five minutes this morning—from appx. 7:00 to 7:05 a.m. to be precise—50 individuals got naked in Wall Street for a performance art piece that sought to expose (get it? expose) truths about American capitalism. 50 men and women got naked and mimed doing a variety of jobs, including dog-walking and janitorial work. Three people were detained.
Zefrey Throwell, artist, is the brains behind the operation. In 2008 he pulled off a similar piece in San Francisco. According to Throwell, "the reaction this produces in the passerby is truly the crux of this piece." Word.
