Gallery: Mario Invades NYC for the Launch Party of "Super Mario 3D Land"

Nintendo fanboy and girl-ism was in full effect this past Saturday when the Big N set up shop in Times Square. In a brilliant promotion for the new Super Mario Land 3D (out now), they brought the Mushroom Kingdom to life. Springs, coin boxes, and pipes were all there, as well as some pretty realistic looking goombas. Score one for Nintendo.

The attention to detail is quite nice. Not so nice, the long ass line

Fire Mario is the shit.

But notably absent: Hammer Suit Mario.

Aww, man, we love that suit.

We know he's Petey Piranha, but all we can think right now is:

"Feed me, Seymour!"

We always knew goombas were one-dimensional bad guys

A whole line of flat goombas. We wanted to take them home

Best 3DS game, ever!

We didn't know they stacked goombas that high.

Even in real life, those goombas don't have a chance

We knew fun was inside when we saw this colorful logo

If this is what these guys look like in real life, then hell yeah, we'd be scared.
