Verizon Will Not Get a Galaxy S II Phone

Samsung's upcoming superphones won't be landing at Big Red

None

Verizon has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that it will not be taking part in the forthcoming smorgasbord of smartphone goodness known as the Samsung Galaxy S II US rollout. Despite having offered an original Galaxy S phone last year in the form of the Samsung Fascinate, this time around Big Red will not be offering one of the new Galaxy devices. Instead, Verizon will continue focus on its other high-powered smartphones, including the 4G Droid Charge by Samsung.

With one of the four majors sitting out, that leaves T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T to unveil their own Galaxy S II handsets at Samsung's big media event on Monday. We'll keep you posted with any further developments.
