Though it may be hard for some to imagine, feature phones (dumb phones to the privileged) still run rampant in this country. Millions of Americans are yet agnostic in the great debate of iPhone vs. Android vs. Windows Phone vs. Blackberry— I used to be one of them. For the first time ever, though, smartphones have now finally emerged as the majority, passing their less intelligent counterparts. We're officially, unequivocally in the smartphone era.

According to a new Pew study, 46 percent of U.S. adults now own a smartphone, compared to just 41 percent who own a feature phone.

So the next time one of your friends or family members complains about not being able to view that link you texted them, you officially don't have to feel bad about it.
