Music has a well-known ability to transport people back to certain times and places in their lives, and Radio Time Machine capitalizes on that fact to great effect. The web app is pretty self-explanatory: It's a simple interface with a timeline and a play button featuring songs organized by year from 1940 on. Pick a year, and Radio Time Machine will play a series of songs that were on the Billboard Hot 100 at that time.

Flash to 1996 and Dr. Dre and Blackstreet are "Giving 'em eargasms with my mellow accent." Skip over to 1983 and David Bowie is asking you to dance. It's a nostalgic dream and a music history lesson all at once.

Give Radio Time Machine a spin for yourself here. We'll be playing with it all day.
