After releasing the new trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the creators are laying the groundwork for what will likely be a year of anticipation for the animated feature. Co-director Peter Ramsey shared the clip via Twitter Saturday afternoon after it officially debuted at Comic Con Experience in Brazil. The feature film is scheduled to debut during the Christmas 2018 season.

“Hey Spider-Fans...a little peek at what’s coming your way #SpiderMan #Spiderverse #MilesMorales,” Ramsey tweeted. The clip also features unreleased Vince Staples music

Miles Morales is the central character in the Spider-Verse, although as you can see from the trailer above, there are multiple Spider-Man characters. As the shot featuring Morales standing over Peter Parker’s tombstone confirms, the original Spidey is dead in this iteration.

Shameik Moore voices the Miles Morales character, while multiple reports have Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry, Liev Schreiber and Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali also on board.

Fans showed their excitement via Twitter after the trailer went public, but that excitement will have to be tempered with waiting an entire calendar year until the film hits the big screen.
