Like all good New Yorkers, when Mayor de Blasio prepared to move from his Park Slope home to Gracie Mansion on Saturday, he left his unwanted stuff curb side for others to peruse.

Among the items tossed was an old rocking chair that held many fond memories for the family. "Maria spent hours in this chair, rocking and reading to Bill when he was a baby. [The de Blasios' children] Chiara and Dante were also soothed by the rocking and the warmth of listening to stories in my lap," said the first lady on Tumblr

Also included—for people who care deeply about the contents of de Blasio's trash—were candles, a Christmas tree stand, a bookshelf, and plastic bins. Fascinating!
