Kendall Jenner had some questionable comments about fellow models in the industry in her recent interview with Love magazine. Following some backlash, Jenner has issued a response.
Her original read, "Since the beginning we’ve been super selective about what shows I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the fuck those girls do." Many did not take too kindly to what she had to say about the schedule of other models with various women and voiced their frustration with the remark on social media.
Today, Jenner took to Twitter to defend herself and say her words were taken out of context.
While it came across as an insult in the interview, Jenner says it was "intended to be entirely complimentary." She continued, "The respect I have for her peers is immeasurable!"
The 22-year-old concluded by saying she's "inspired by so many of these people I have had the good fortune to work alongside!"
This is not the first time that Jenner has had to respond to backlash. Last year, she was dragged for appearing in a tone deaf Pepsi commercial centered on a protest as demonstrations for equality took place around the country. She even said that her "life is over" following the incident. If she could survive that Pepsi catastrophe, she will probably be able to get past this misstep, too.
