The launch of Nintendo's Wii U last month didn't go off without a hitch, but Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime is confident in the new system. In particular, he told Gamasutra that though official reviews have been mixed, users and fans have responded positively to the Wii U.
And on the topic of the Wii U's enormous, mandatory day-one firmware update:
We won't argue with him there. The Wii U was missing some notable functions, like TVii, at launch, but that's promised to arrive this month. Other than that, it's probably going to come down to what games Nintendo has planned for 2013, and what they can reveal next year at E3 2013.
Have you picked up a Wii U yet? Are you happy with Nintendo's new system so far?
