Call of Duty devs Infinity Ward have scheduled a 24-hour gaming marathon for Oct. 20, and they're asking for pledges from you. Pledges for what, you ask? For the children, of course!

They're teaming with Extra Life, a charity that gives directly to children's hospitals. "Each of us has chosen our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay," reads the Extra Life page.

"On Oct. 20th, 2012, We'll attempt to play an epic 24 hour video game marathon and it's our sincere hope that you'll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

"Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids."

It should be interesting to watch actual Call of Duty developers trash-talk one another while they play Call of Duty. So will you donate? Think of the children!
