If a zombie apocalypse ever happens in real life, let's all hope that the living dead follow the old-school George Romero style of movement (i.e., deathly slow). That way, fending walkers off one at a time will be relatively painless. Unlike those Carl Lewis types in supercharged zombie movies like 28 Days Later… and Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake—those sons-of-bitches can motor. Trying to survive in a world overrun by them would be Metroid-level impossible.

Which is why it's hard to 100-percent sympathize with the characters in AMC's The Walking Dead when it's time for one-on-one face-offs. There's no reason why Rick, Glenn, Maggie, or whoever else should ever get bitten when scrapping with a single zombie. Ask Daryl Dixon or Michonne—walkers can be so much fun to eliminate. With their rotting skulls, zombies' heads are basically piñatas just waiting to break open.
