With Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu playing different Kens in Greta Gerwig's forthcoming Barbie movie, they had to stay in shape throughout filming.

In an interview with Men's Health, Liu revealed spoke about Barbie and what he had to do to prepare for it from a fitness standpoint.

"Scott [Evans] was a great workout partner," he said. "We would work out, and then go play table tennis. We had this long-lasting table tennis rivalry that I think, to this day, we haven't settled."

Liu then explained how dedicated and focused Gosling was when it came to working out.

"Ryan was the best inspiration because he was the most disciplined," Liu said. "I could not beat Ryan to the gym. He was always there earlier than me and he always stayed later. It just speaks to the discipline that this guy has, and I think it really pays off in the movie. He's got a couple scenes where you get to see a bit of that Ken body, and it's pretty shredded."

We know Gosling's version of Ken has a job that only consists of "the beach," so it makes sense that Gosling would want to maintain good form to help sell his character's career.

Liu also has had to stay in good shape for a potential Shang-Chi sequel, but last he heard, it keeps getting delayed.
