A darker plot than most, anyone with a conscious will struggle with tough choices very early in the game. Exploring the city of Dunwall you may find yourself just looking around at the amazingly dark view in lieu of playing the game, this attention to detail and brilliant art direction means Dishonored will be a game you'll play over and over. For an added challenge, try playing through without killing anyone. It's a lot harder than you think.

NBA 2K13 is more sports RPG than simple basketball simulation.

Pick a major player or craft your own rookie and bring them up through the ranks then play a pick-up game against Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, or Magic Johnson. For those who avoid sports games this one is not to be missed. The moves take a little getting used to but by the end of the day you'll be stomping around your living room in a domination dance and shopping for new kicks.

Skyrim is less a game to be played as it is an entire encyclopedia set in front of you.

Endless options of play will take you in countless directions. Follow the main quest or become a leek farmer in your enormous house in the hills. With the sheer amount of freedom and detail you could play for years while never engaging in the main storyline.

Wandering and discovery are the most exciting part about this game.

Everything goes sideways and you're suddenly caught in the middle of The Mexican War of Independence. Red Dead Redemption will have you cursing damn varmints and chasing pretty women who constantly steal your horses. When the art, music and storyline come together in cinematic excellence, it makes it an emotional moving experience to play over and over.

The magnum opus of BioWare's action role-playing trilogy.

With great story this moralist tale unfolds between planetary battles so if you've been living under a rock or avoiding the hype over the series, start with this great title and work your way to the others. Routinely called one of, if not the, greatest video game ever made, it doesn't disappoint. The controller will be glued to your hands for hours on end.
