[UPDATE 5/19/2014]
Anonymous sources within The Division's developer Massive are reporting that 2016 may be a more realistic launch date. Farewell dreams of apocalyptic New York City.
“2015 is a tad bit optimistic. We still don’t have a functioning game and still have massive problems making our multiplayer component work at the concept stage.”
Original story follows:
Ubisoft's upcoming Tom Clancy game The Division has been pushed until 2015. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC game needs a lot more time in the oven, according to developers Red Storm Entertainment.
"We are creating something we are really proud of and we don't want to compromise on quality,” the developer said in a blog post. “We are going to release the game when it's ready.”
The Division debuted last year at E3 2013 with a remarkable open-world third-person shooter set in a post apocalyptic world – in a demo shown, the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn – where multiplayer teammates would join forces to wreak havoc or bring order to a persistent world gone mad.
