The 10 Most Morally Depraved Games

Video games have been accused of providing children with easy access to sexually explicit, overtly violent, and socially deviant content for years. While this is completely untrue for a majority of titles, there are a few games out there that could stand to be a little more culturally acceptable.

The following list of games includes some of the most depraved titles ever conceived and were designed to be strictly adults-only affairs. Still, where would we be if we started censoring every game that rocked the boat? Instead, let's explore these disgusting displays and gasp at all their gory, hyper-sexualized material and thank the heavens for free speech.

Platform: Atari 2600

Year: 1982

Without a proper censorship board, and no ESRB to be found, the 1980's were filled with some hilariously primitive attempts at interactive adult entertainment. The most well-known example of these being Custer's Revenge in which players take on the role of a naked General Custer who must dodge arrows in order to have sex with a Native American woman tied to a pole.

It'd be easy to get offended at the nature of the title, but developer Mystique also produced General Retreat in which the gender roles are reversed. Now, before you go praising them for being progressive enough to let players control a woman taking sexual advantage of a man, it was designed as the cheapest possible follow-up for their line of adult games.

Year: 1998

Take Super Smash Bros. but instead of fan-favourite characters, fill it with characters dressed in BDSM fetish gear and have them rip each other limb from limb. Rather than a normal health bar, players build up a kill meter that allows them to execute opponents in gruesome ways that give Mortal Kombat's Fatalities a run for their money. Thrill Kill never recieved a proper release on the PlayStation thanks to its extreme blend of sex and violence, but bootleg still found their way online after jaded former employees wanted their work to be seen.

Grand Theft Auto made prostitutes in games famous, but Gigolo was providing players with a hardcore avenue to whoredom long before Tommy Vercetti ever got behind the wheel. Rather than designing a game about screwing prostitutes, in Gigolo you get to be one! Even better, you're a male prostitute sneaking into homes and servicing desperate housewives for cash. Thankfully, all of the pixelated ladies paying for your time are trim, buxom babes rather than the type of women who usually hire male escorts.

Year: 2002

Taking the full-motion video sprite capturing technology that made Mortal Kombat a hit, Bikini Karate Babes offers a simple fighting game filled with scantily clad ladies kicking the crap out of each other. With 19 real-life actresses to ogle and fight, the game is a pervert's delight. Special moves and grab abilities strip your opponent's top or bottom away, providing for some tantalizing animations, but fret not FCC, there's no actual nudity shown in the game.

Year: 2007

Originally given the Adults Only rating before release for its astonishingly brutal violence, Manhunt 2 lets you enjoy the thrill of dismembering other psychopaths in extremely graphic ways. Whether that's chopping folk up with a fireman's axe, suffocating them with a plastic bag, or dislodging their testicles with a pair of pliers, Manhunt 2 offers some of the most gruesome fatalities ever recorded in a video game. If you've got a strong stomach and a taste for gore, this is one bloody ride worth checking out.

Year: 2004

Part pornography, part trivia challenge, The Guy Game offers up videos of topless Girls Gone Wild rejects in exchange for correct answers to obscure questions. While it's certainly not the most mentally taxing trivia game on the market, it certainly provides the right motivation. That being said, if you're thinking of hunting down a copy of this perverted gem, you should probably stop lest you enjoy being listed on the Sex Offender Registry Board.

Four months after the game's release the developers at Top Heavy Studios were saddled with a lawsuit for including video of an underage girl who had lied about her birthdate at the time of filming. The game was pulled from shelves and is currently banned across the United States because of its child pornography content.

Year: 2012

The Postal series has always reveled in letting you be an absolute lunatic, and Postal 3 is no exception. With scenes that have you pelting soccer moms with semen-drenched rags collected from a dingy porn shop in hopes of making them throw up long enough to piss in their face, there are no lines developer Akella isn't willing to cross. You'll recieve missions from the likes of Osama Bin Laden, Hugo Chávez, and Uwe Boll (I'll leave you to decide who the worst among the three is), abuse animals, and slaughter hundreds of innocent bystanders, all in pursuit of a means to escape your Arizona hellhole of a town.

With a lighthearted approach to topics that would make your grandmother faint, the game strives to induce maniacle laughter in its undoubtedly disturbed players. The game does offer a non-lethal and more socially acceptable "good path", but chances are if you're playing Postal 3 it's because you're seeking a thoroughly disturbed experience.

Year: 2005

The tragedy that struck Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado has been the subject of many documentaries and essays, but few drew as much ire as Super Columbine Massacre RPG!. In the game you play as Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold on the day of their April 20, 1999 shooting spree. The reenactment of the tragedy is truncated a little by the 16-bit graphics, but there's an undeniable sense of sadness that washes over the player as they relive the day as the mass murderers.

While the mainstream media accused the game for being a vicious murder simulator bent on tormenting the victims of the attack, those who played it found that it offered a poignant social commentary that was absent from cultural dialog. Using flashbacks to show Eric and Dylan's tortured life as social outcasts provided context to the feelings of ostracization that led to their breakdown. Using an accurate timeline of their torment and verbatim excerpts from their home videos and personal diaries, the game provides an intimate exploration of what could drive someone to this form of violent outburst.

In the open-world sandbox of Bonetown your mission is simple, complete missions to increase the size of your testicles in order to have sex with more attractive women. Through the course of the game you'll star in a porn, use drugs as power-ups, and get freaky with all sorts of girls.

What makes BoneTown magical is it's blatant disregard for propriety and Leisure Suit Larry sense of humor. Laden with puns and innuendos, the game has some clever (if thoroughly juvenile) jokes to laugh at between the hardcore sex scenes.

Year: 2006

There have been plenty of games that focus on sexuality, but RapeLay is of an entirely different breed. As a literal rape simulator, RapeLay sets the player on a crowded Japanese subway where they can grope a woman and her two daughters before taking them to a public bathroom where you proceed to force yourself upon them. As if that wasn't depraved enough, the game also includes the option to impregnate and force abortions on your victims which leads to their suicides.

I can't think of a single, justifiable explanation for why this game needs to exist. It feels wrong to even attach the word game to RapeLay, much in the same way it feels wrong to call a porno magazine a book. Without a doubt, there has never been a game as disgusting as RapeLay, and I hope there isn't another for a long time to come. There's a difference between revelling in deviant behaviour for fun, and providing fetish material for sociopaths. Games like these provide no artistic value to their player, and damage the credibility of creators looking to explore adult themes in a mature environment which I desperately want to see more of as the industry continues to evolve.
