Getting married in your teenage years—even your early 20s—is often an ill-advised move, given the ever increasing rate of divorce these days. Despite the dismal odds of actually having a successful marriage, some stars roll the dice and naively enter holy matrimony at a very young age. Drew Barrymore

19-year-old Drew Barrymore had only known Jeremy Thomas, a Welsh bartender, for six weeks before the two were married in 1994. "Usually people live together first and then get married,” Barrymore told People after the ceremony. “I guess we're doing it the old-fashioned way. Kind of." Not surprisingly, Barrymore filed for divorce just two months into the marriage. Since the quick dissolution of her first marriage, Barrymore went on to significant relationships with Tom Green, Fabrizio Moretti, Justin Long, and is currently married to art consultant Will Kopelman.
Avril Lavigne

Age: 19
Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 member Deryck Whibley got engaged in 2005 and subsequently married in July 2006. Their marriage dissolved quickly after rumors from media outlets reported that the two were experiencing trouble in their relationship. In September 2009, the couple separated and eventually filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. "Deryck and I have been together for 6-and-a-half years," Lavigne explained on her website. "[We] are separating and moving forward on a positive note."
Britney Spears

In January 2004, Britney Spears married her childhood friend from Louisiana, Jason Allen Alexander, at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. However, Spears was advised to file for an annulment after just 55 hours of marital bliss. Though sources claim Spears was drunk when the two decided to get hitched, George Maloof Jr., owner of the Palm Casino Resort, told the AP, "I was with her the whole night. None of those reports were accurate. She was just having a good time."
Kate Hudson

2000 was a good year for Kate Hudson. Between the release of cult classic Almost Famous and getting married to The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, everything seemed to be falling into place for the young actress. Six years later, the couple announced their divorce and it was finalized in October 2007. “Chris and I divorced for the right reasons. We just didn’t work,” Hudson later admitted. “But we remain extremely close.” Following the split, romantic spells with Owen Wilson, Dax Shepard, and Lance Armstrong all ended in break up, but she eventually landed on her feet with her now-fiancé Matthew Bellamy.

Janet Jackson and R&B crooner James DeBarge eloped in 1984 after dating for a brief period of time. The singer faced pressure from her parents when they caught wind of the rushed relationship. Jackson vehemently denied the allegations.
