Pret A Manger, a U.K.-based fast food chain, has a secret ingredient in their salads: Dead frogs.
Yesterday, Wall Street Journal Digital Features Editor Kathryn Lurie captured this photo of an Albacore Tuna Nicoise Salad that one of her colleague's ordered from one of the chain's New York City locations. As you can see, it's topped with a deceased frog. The recipient of the Frog Salad was understandably "shaken."
Gothamist reached out to Pret A Manger for comment, and a rep provided the following ass-covering statement:
Inspect all salads closely in 2014.
