A student at the University of South Carolina has been suspended after a picture of her writing a racial slur on a whiteboard inside of a dorm room went viral.

According to the Associated Press, the unidentified student was suspended on Friday after an image of her writing a list of reasons the university's WiFi "blows" surfaced. "Niggers" was the top of it.

University of South Carolina President Harris Pastides said the student committed a series of code of conduct investigations, adding that the Board of Trustees supported the suspension:

Today, the unfortunate and disappointing act of a student in a study room has challenged the Carolina community to reflect on our values and tell the world what we believe. Respect for all is at the heart of the Carolinian Creed, the code by which we agree to abide. Racist and uncivil rhetoric have no place at the University of South Carolina.
