A man has been arrested in New Zealand for drugging travelers at his hostel, then recording his actions, officials say.
According to the Associated Press, 56-year-old Michael Harris assaulted 16 men between the ages of 18 and 25 over a two and a half year period at the Main Street Lodge in Kaitaia. Authorities add that after subduing the men, he would make "intimate visual recordings with them." In a statement, Detective Senior Sgt. Rhys Johnston said it was "unlikely" the men knew they had been assaulted.
Harris faces a series of charges including aggravated wounding and indecent assault. Meanwhile, police are asking anyone who stayed at the hostel during that time period to come forward.
