The 11-year-old boy that had been missing from his East New York home for five days was found alive this morning.
The New York Post reports that family members confirmed that the boy discovered aboard the 4 train in Union Square at 8:15 a.m. is Kareem Granton. The boy vanished from his family's home on the morning of March 5, prompting a search for him.
Police tell the Post that Granton was recognized by a straphanger, who informed a transit employee. The boy was escorted from the train by the worker, then police reached out to Granton's family. According to a police source, Granton passed the time by riding trains. When police asked why he left his home, Granton said that he wanted to go to the Barclays Center.
