The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington's winter Restaurant Week began yesterday in the D.C. area, and about 240 restaurants will be serving lunches and dinners at fixed prices. This time around, participating restaurants will be charging $20.13 for lunch and $35.15 for dinner.
In addition, there's also a little competition sponsored by the Australian meat and game industry. Meat and Livestock Australia is pushing participants to serve lamb dishes raised in Australia and customers to vote for the best meal.
The winning restaurant will receive a trip to Australia, and the chance to cook a meal for one of the voters and nine of their friends. The restaurants battling for a trip down under are American Tap Room, 1905, Willow Restaurant, Bandolero, Café du Parc, Belga Café, Perry's Restaurant and Lincoln.
