Police in San Francisco recovered a suitcase containing human remains yesterday, leading to the discovery of additional body parts in the immediate area.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that authorities received a call just after 4 p.m. after the roller-style suitcase was found beneath garbage and debris. Grace Gatpandan, spokeswoman for the San Francisco Police Department, said the suitcase contained the dismembered body parts of a human being, but said the victim's sex and race are unknown at the moment. ABC 7 in San Francisco reports that a torso that was found inside of the suitcase.
During a sweep of the area, responding officers found additional body parts, although they wouldn't disclose any further details. According to the Chronicle, the case is being treated as a homicide, and the investigation continues.
