Video footage of a French man who was kidnapped in Algeria over the weekend being beheaded has emerged, officials say.
According to CNN, the video, titled "A message of blood for the French government," shows armed men claiming to be part of extremist group Jund al-Khilafa beheading a man believed to be Herve Gourdel. CNN adds that Gourdel was abducted in Tizi-Ouzou on Sunday, and that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi are loyal to ISIS in Syira.
CNN adds that the authenticity of the video has yet to be confirmed by the French government. This news comes after the U.S. announced airstrikes on ISIS targets in Syria on Monday evening.
