Elderly Woman Killed in Manhattan Apartment Fire

An 82-year-old woman was killed after her Manhattan apartment caught fire this morning. 

According to the New York Post, the fire began in Chelsea around 4:30 a.m. Authorities found Gloria Hillman's body on the third floor, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition, a fire truck responding to the blaze got into a car accident, leaving firefighters with minor injuries. 

The Post adds that the medical examiner will work to determine the woman's exact cause of death, while the fire marshal will attempt to establish the origin of the fire.
