Drew Barrymore Ranked Adam Sandler, Hugh Grant, and Jake Gyllenhaal In Order of Talent

In the same game on 'Corden,' John Boyega refused to admit how much he made from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi.'

James Corden might get all the praise for Carpool Karaoke, but his best contribution to pop culture is actually a much different segment from his Late Late Show: "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts." The premise is simple: get one or two celebrities, present them with the most disgusting-sounding food you can come up with (think: spam milkshake, fish eyes, bird saliva, etc.) and then ask them intrusive questions that celebrities would never typically answer if they weren’t presented with the alternative: eat one of the gross things. It’s like a macabre gourmet version of Truth or Dare, and I am always here for it. This week’s edition, with Drew Barrymore and John Boyega, was particularly entertaining.

"None of us have seen these questions before," Corden said as he kicked off the fun and games. "What could possibly go wrong?" Well, predictably, quite a bit. Corden started by asking Barrymore which talk show has been her least favorite between Colbert, Fallon, and Ellen, all three of which she has recently appeared on to promote the new season of her Netflix show, The Santa Clarita Diet.

"OK, I'm going to have to drink this, because, seriously, you picked three of my favorite people," Barrymore eventually admitted. "If you had asked me a personal question where I could out myself about something, I would fucking do it." Her punishment was to drink a healthy glass of bird saliva. She went more for a sip, but then again, what even is bird saliva?

“Remember, you met me at the beginning of my career, you gave me a nice hug. Think of that when you choose,” Boyega told her. Whether she considered that or not is hard to determine, because Barrymore gave him giant water scorpions to eat. He ended up throwing a whole one in his mouth after he refused to disclose how much money he made from both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedithe last two movies he has starred in before Pacific Rim Uprising, which premieres this week. The two movies made $3.5 billion combined, but Boyega’s specific payday remains a mystery. (He did spit it out afterwards, though, admitting, “there’s a chicken aspect to it, I can’t lie.”)

Boyega returned the favor to Corden by gifting him a thousand-year-old egg, actually considered a delicacy in China. Corden, who regularly plays this game on his show, happily answered Boyega’s question—“Have you ever stolen anything, and if so, from where?”—but only after Boyega yelled at him to “CONFESS!” Turns out Corden once stole a candle from Mariah Carey’s house, which is kind of blah, if I’m being honest. Then again, this is James Corden, so… let’s just move on.

The finale of the game was shocking. Barrymore was given a true Sophie’s Choice of Hollywood: rank how talented three of her past co-stars (namely Hugh Grant, Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Sandler) are, or eat turkey testicles. She chose to rank them, with Jake Gyllenhaal at the bottom, "so I don't have to eat a turkey's ball." Corden quickly corrected her, though, because she just threw Gyllenhaal under the bus, and she was asked to rank them. With a series of apologies, she eventually did it.

"When I run into him next time, I'll be like, 'Dude, it was like selling you down the river or eating turkey's balls.' And by the way, I don't even care if he hates me," Barrymore apologized. "Oh, god...I literally am doing this because I won't make it. I'm going to vomit all over the place. I would say, Adam, Hugh, Jake." (That’s in order of most to least talented.)

Boyega finished out his round with a truly boss move. Barrymore asked him to describe the last time he got so drunk he threw up or eat jellyfish, but Boyega looked at her straight in the eyes and said: “I don’t drink.”

Corden got the last question: who has been the worst behaved guest on his show? The alternative to answering was to eat a turkey ball. “Was it Jake Gyllenhaal?” Barrymore asked. Watch the full video above to find out if Corden spilled the beans or spilled his guts.
