Brad Pitt Apparently Goes By 'William' When Flirting

If he looks like Brad Pitt and he flirts like Brad Pitt, he’s probably William.

Brad Pitt—whose real name is William Bradley Pitt—has been spotted in Los Angeles flirting with random blonde women at coffee shops. But you’ll have to trust Page Six for it, because he introduced himself as William rather than Brad, and that’s got everyone extremely confused.

The 54-year-old actor recently hit up Coffee Commissary in Los Angeles, where he “arrived by motorcycle, wearing sunglasses, jeans and a leather jacket," a source told Page Six (who called the source “a spy.”) According to this top-secret spy, Pitt decided to strike up a conversation with a blonde woman in line with him. “She was acting overly bubbly and looked a little like Kate Bosworth, but it wasn’t her,” they said.

The woman eventually introduced herself as Lydia, and Pitt then reportedly reached out his hand to shake hers and introduced himself as William. But Lydia, who could probably be a spy herself due to her razor sharp deduction skills, saw right through his bluff. “’Oh, you look like a Bradley,’” she told him. “‘Well, that’s my middle name’” he replied, and “smiled and winked at her.”

When Lydia was leaving the coffee shop, she said, “’Nice to meet you, Bradley. I mean William.’ He laughed to himself, then got on his bike.”

On the face of it, this really is a perfectly normal interaction for a man who just over a year ago separated from his partner of 14 years, Angelina Jolie, with whom he has six children. The two have been separated since December 2016, but both have custody of their children and continue to “co-parent,” as E! News puts it.

With that said, E! News also reports that the divorce proceedings have stagnated, and as of August, “the divorce is not moving forward.” Jolie and Pitt were reportedly “taking a breather and seeing what happens.” Although it’s hard to know what that actually means, Pitt’s wild coffee shop antics probably suggest the two are indeed separated for good. (Or, you know, he’s just friendly to strangers in a coffee shop and doesn’t want to be hounded while in public by admitting that, yes, Lydia, one of the most famous actors in the world is getting coffee in the same place as you.)
