Ms. Jacky Oh!, mother of three and longtime girlfriend of DC Young Fly, has died at age 32.
Sources told TMZ the model/TV personality was in Miami at the time of her death, but declined to provide any more details. The outlet points out that Jacky Oh!, real name Jacklyn Smith, recently announced she was traveling to Florida to undergo a “mommy makeover,” or a series of plastic surgery procedures that typically includes a tummy tuck, liposuction, and/or breast augmentation.
Lauren Wood, who has appeared on Ms. Jacky Oh!’s YouTube channel, reshared an Instagram Stories post from a private account that appears to contain a message directly from the family.
“It is with sadden [sic] hearts we share with you that Jacklyn aka MsJackyOh has passed away on Wednesday, May 31st 2023," the statement reads. "Our family is still processing this very tragic and unexpected loss; we ask that you please give us privacy during this time. Signed, The X and Bat Family and Papa Bat.”
Ms. Jacky Oh! reportedly met DC Young Fly in 2015 during his rookie year on Wild ‘N Out. Jacky, who was working as a Wild ‘N Out Girl at the time, began dating the comedian shortly after. They went on to welcome three kids together, daughters Nova and Nala, and son Prince. Although DC Young Fly is still on the series, Jacky left to launch her own lip gloss line and develop a successful YouTube channel.
“We started dating right after the show wrapped. I flew back to California, he flew back to Atlanta. I think I flew to Atlanta the next week,” Ms. Jacky Oh! recalled during a 2017 interview with DJ Small Eyez, before addressing the topic of marriage. “You know if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. We’re fine, we’re chilling, we’re both young and just enjoying ourselves, our baby, our little family.”
Wild 'N Out shared a statement on social media credited to a BET Media Group spokesperson. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented Wild N’ Out family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed," the message reads. "Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the Wild N’ Out cast throughout five seasons. More importantly, she was a tremendous mother to three beautiful children. The BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon, and all friends who loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time.”
