Congratulations are in order for Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly.

The entertainers took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce their engagement after a year and half of dating. Fox shared a video of MGK popping the question under a banyan tree, which held a special meaning for the celebrity couple.

“In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree,” the Transformers star wrote. “We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma. Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. …and then we drank each other’s blood.”

MGK posted a video of the ring he presented to his fiancée. The piece featured an emerald and a diamond—Fox’s and MGK’s respective birthstones.

TMZ spoke to jeweler Stephen Webster, who helped MGK design the ring, which Webster said was “created in 18ct white gold with a D color antique-cut Diamond, and an untreated Columbian Emerald, perfectly matched pear-shaped gems, surrounded by colorless natural Diamond pavé.”

Webster explained that MGK mentioned that Fox’s |birth stone is Emerald which he wanted to incorporate in some way along with a Diamond, his birth stone.”

They ultimately created a piece that “consists of two rings which, by the use of magnets buried within the Gold, are attracted to each other and sit together perfectly on the finger, a detail that is both modern and quite extraordinary.”

Fox and MGK reportedly met in March 2020 while on the set of Midnight in the Switchgrass. Though Fox was still married to Brian Austin Green at the time, the actor later confirmed they had been separated since late 2019. Fox and Green, who welcomed three children during their 10-year marriage, finalized their divorce back in October, months after Fox and MGK confirmed their romantic relationship.

“Loving [MGK] is like being in love with a tsunami or a forest fire,” Fox told Nylon back in November. “The intensity of merging with him is just overwhelming, and the threat it poses is so powerful but so beautiful that you have no choice to surrender with reverence and with gratitude.”
