With Brave coming out this Friday, Pixar is already busy promoting its next high-profile release, Monsters University. As a prequel to 2001's Monsters, Inc., this movie tells the story of how Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) first met while learning how to become monsters in college. It's a little disappointing that the studio chose to do a prequel rather than tackle a completely original property, but we would be lying if we said that the final joke in the trailer wasn't simply genius.
We'll see if Pixar can pull off this prequel, while still remaining fresh and innovative, when Monsters University gets released on June 21, 2013.
