Warner Bros. Is Preparing to Reboot "Scooby-Doo"
Warner Brothers is looking to reboot “Scooby Doo” on the big screen.
Scooby-Doo, Where are You? is one of the most iconic cartoons of all time, so you can’t blame Warner Bros. for trying to turn the franchise into a live-action movie property in the early 2000’s. Unfortunately, while the movie was a moderate financial success, it wasn’t exactly a game-changer. And after two installments, the live-action series stalled, relegating Scooby to direct-to-video installments and tepid cartoon series.
However, now Deadlineis reporting that Warner Bros. is looking to kick the can down the road again with a rebooted Scooby-Doo film franchise. The site doesn’t specify whether or not this will be another live-action attempt or a CGI cartoon movie, but the studio obviously thinks there is still life here. Maybe the franchise can take its inspiration from The New Scooby-Doo Movies from the '70s and have Scooby and the gang team up with Batman & Robin or the Harlem Globetrotters. It can't be any worse than what we've gotten from the franchise previously.
