Raquel Lee Bolleau had a challenging time with a scene on The Amanda Show which called for Amanda Bynes to spit in her face.

Bolleau, who's also known for starring in The Proud Family, recalled the scene in a TikTok posted on Sunday (September 28).

The skit was about a family meeting their new neighbors, The Literals, and when Bolleau's character told Bynes' character to "spit it out," she did so, spitting a drink on her and another cast member.

"We were actually running the scene and I said 'spit it out.' She spit it directly in my face," Bolleau explained in the TikTok below. "That was the first time."

The actress said she "tried to keep it cool" while the scene was filmed again, but Bynes continued to spit in her face. "What you don't realize is every time she's spitting it in my face, I have to get my makeup redone, I have to get my hair redone. She thought it was hilarious. Everybody else thought it was hilarious," Bolleau recounted.

Bolleau accused Bynes of doing "what she felt she could do" as the show's lead. "I remember my mom and the director rushed me backstage and said, 'Raquel, I need you to woosah,'" she explained.

Upon returning to set, the director told Bynes not to spit in Bolleau's face again. "I think at that time I felt so many different emotions," she continued. "I was angry, I was frustrated, I was sad, I wanted to cry."

Bolleau said it was "a lot of pressure" for her to keep her composure on the crowded set and that she "almost lost it." "I had to grow some thick skin very early on in this industry," she said, adding that the memory "stuck" with her.

Bynes has infamously been off the radar since 2010 after being placed under a conservatorship by her parents and struggling with mental health issues, including bipolar disorder.

The Amanda Show ran on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2002 after Bynes was a breakout star on the sketch comedy show All That.
