Since screening at SXSW Get Hard has been receiving criticism for its very premise being racist, as well as containing quips seen as racist and homophobic. This subject has gone untouched during Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart's late night talk show tour, but Louis Virtel of HitFix finally asked the two the hard questions.

Virtel asked if they thought their jokes involving an effeminate voice and gagging at the sight of the dick were possibly mean-spirited or outdated, and Hart responded with a stubborn "funny is funny." And when asked about criticism of the film as racist, Hart basically said that critics have always had it out for him.

If you're looking for a deeper level of self-reflection, this is not your interview. Both Hart and Ferrell are focused on the fact that some people are laughing and not why that laughing could be problematic.
