Call of Duty: Ghosts is reportedly on-track to becoming an even more pre-ordered title than Grand Theft Auto V.
And regardless of how that makes you feel on a personal level, Activision certainly knows how best to promote their annual golden calf. Summoning the lyrical prowess of one Marshall Mathers, Activision and Treyarch are making sure that Call of Duty: Ghosts can now count star power among its arsenal. Eminem's new The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is due out November 5, is being coupled with the release of COD: Ghosts on the very same day.
Eminem's official music video for "Survival" features more COD: Ghosts footage and hints at some of the more prominent features already outlined by Activision.
Apparently Eminem will be waging some sort of street art/Banksy style guerrila campaign against the inavading forces occupying the United States. Good luck with that.

America is kind of a dump in Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The whole premise behind COD: Ghosts is one of American vulnerability.
We have been attacked, invaded, and occupied. Our only hope of self-preservation lay in the scattered remnants of the U.S. Military and its special forces teams scattered around the country. America is a smoking crater of her former glory, and it's only going to be through guerilla tactics and (gasp) acts of terror that we will be able to take back our country and reasses everyone's credit scores. Expect lots and lots of urban ruin and close quarters gunplay.
Assault + Sniper = Marksman Rifle
Setting aside the ominous 'Send Help' spray painted on the side of the abandoned building, the sniper rifle class will be getting a bit of tweak in COD: Ghosts.
As you can see through the crosshairs, long range, scoped weapons are still front and center in your arsenal. Sniper rifles will be getting a cross-pollination in the form of the Marksman rifle. The Marksman Rifle features the weapon handling abilities of the sniper rifle with the increased rate of fire of the assault rifle. A hybrid weapon class can be a disaster if not balanced the right way, but the new class of weapon is being given a serious push by Activision.
Yes, that effing dog even got a cameo in the video.
This dog. This. Fucking. Dog.
We knew right away as soon as Activision started advertising a canine sqaud mate in COD: Ghosts, this dog was going to get way more attention than he deserved. The memes were fast and unforgiving.
The dogs will work in tandem with the killstreak rewards. When activated, they run within close proximity to you and often scout out in front of you. Who better to watch your back when taking a sniper break in deep cover.
Bring out your Sunday best.
Player customization is one of the largest, if not the largest, selling point of the multiplayer experience. Call of Duty: Ghosts has to innovate in order to avoid franchise fatigue and it looks like Activision is aware of this. Throughout Em's video, we can see the variable customization options for your characters.
With so many options at your disposal, we are hoping the teams over at Infinity Ward are aware of player balancing and have anticipated any exploits based on perk combinations.
Levelution is for suckers.
Call of Duty: Ghosts has more to prove than any entry previously in the COD series. Representing the series on two new consoles, both on next-gen, as well as the current-gen is huge for Activision.
Resting on the laurels of series entries like Black Ops or Modern Warfare is no longer an option for Activision and Infinity Ward. They are being presented with the opportunity to make drastic changes in the series. The elimination of deathstreaks and the addition of destructable environment shows a more focused and serious approach to modernizing the genre.
This drastic re-approach also means new modes. Crank, for instance, turns you into a walking hand grenade. Killstreaks will make you faster, but if you go 30 seconds without a kill, you explode.
