Bravo announced today that Season 12 of Top Chef will be taking place in Boston. The city is home to several former contestants, including Tiffani Faison (Season 1) Kristen Kish (winner, Season 10) and Stephanie Cmar (Season 11), as well as celebrity chefs like Ming Tsai and Ken Oringer.

Shari Levine, the SVP of Current Production for Bravo said in a statement that:

“Boston has always been at the top of our wish list as a location for ‘Top Chef,’ not only because of its rich historical significance, but also because of its robust and ever-growing culinary scene. ’Top Chef’ will showcase the many facets of the city which in turn will bring its fresh, unique flavor to Season 12.”

Mainstays Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons will all be back as well, and local chefs and celebrities will be appearing as special guest judges throughout the entire season.

Production is slated to begin this spring, and the show will premiere in the fall.
