It was a quiet Monday afternoon, until Orange is the New Black’s Laura Prepon posted this photo on her Instagram page:
Shortly thereafter, Netflix officials had confirmed what the picture already suggested: that Orange is the New Black has been renewed for a third season.
The popular Netflix show will see its second season debut on Netflix June 6, and it would seem likely that they’ll begin filming the third season shortly thereafter. Prepon—who will be playing a smaller role in Season 2—is expected to be back in a regular role on Season 3, continuing her role as the foil to Taylor Schilling’s Piper.
For fans of the show, this is undoubtedly great news and will ease anyone’s concerns that Season 2 would be its last.
