If you could have pegged a young Kat Dennings to any one stereotypical social circle, it probably would have been the Goth kids, right?
She confirmed as much last night on Conan, revealing that she was so Goth growing up that she used to believe that she was Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family, and would even sleep with her arms folded. While some might say that this revelation is dark and a bit disturbing, you have to applaud Dennings’ commitment to her Gothness. She didn’t just half-ass it, as little kids are wont to do; she really went the full-on method acting route, and it’s pretty impressive.
When you think of it that way, it’s no great surprise that she became a successful actress when she grew up. If she was so deeply committed to her craft back then, imagine how she is now.
