Director Edgar Wright, known best for his work on Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End, has left the production of Marvel’s Ant-Man.
Deadline is citing “creative differences” as the reason behind the split. The movie stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas, and is supposed to start principal photography shortly and be released in July 2015.
The statement released by the studio and Wright gives off a “nothing to see here” vibe:
Variety reports that this new director is, in fact, already in place, so maybe there is a chance things do stay on course. Considering Wright also co-wrote the script, though, it’s hard to imagine this project without him.
