While Rick Ross was rapping about selling dope straight off his iPhone, the FBI was issued a warrant forcing Google to unlock the smartphone of a California man named Dante Dears who was pimping straight off his Android phone, MSNBC is reporting.

Dears, a previously convicted pimp who founded the "Pimpin' Hoes Daily" prostitution ring, served a four-year prison sentence for physically abusing a 15-year-old girl homeless girl who he recruited to join his operation. While on house arrest in his Chula Vista, Calif. home, a FBI source noticed that Dears was still pimping his prostitutes via his Android phone. According to the source, Dears was "taking several telephone calls where he discussed the night's prostitution activities," and that he also "sent multiple text messages throughout the evening. Shortly after sending a message a woman would arrive at the apartment and give Dears money."

Dears parole officer seized his Samsung Exhibit II smartphone and requested that he unlock it. Dears refused. The FBI's Regional Computer Forensics Lab was unsuccessful in unlocking the phone, so the Bureau requested a search warrant that would force Google to give up Dears' account login information, all emails and text messages, his browsing history, and any GPS data Google's collected from his phone.

According to a statement given to SecurityNewsDaily, Google is still deciding whether or not to comply with the warrant.

Who knew Android's pattern-based lock screen was so good?
