With Disney megastar Miley Cyrus turning 19 today, we got to thinking about the Mickey Mouse company and came to a realization: those casting directors have uncanny ability for choosing girls who grow up to be beautiful women. History has proven that Disney is great at nurturing and boosting the careers of young talents who go on to earn some of the biggest names in Hollywood, and many of them are some of the most attractive actresses in the game. Check out The 20 Hottest Former Disney Stars to see what we mean.

Christina Aguilera

20. CHRISTINA AGUILERA

TV Show: The All New Mickey Mouse Club

We’re not sure what they were feeding those kids on The All New Mickey Mouse Club, but it worked. The show pumped out some of today's top performers including Christina Aguilera. If you haven’t heard about what she's been up to since being a child star, we invite you to step out into the world.

Demi Lovato

19. DEMI LOVATO

TV Shows: As The Bell Rings, Sonny With a Chance
Films: Camp Rock (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010)

Disney first introduced Demi through a series of short segments in As The Bell Rings. We were finally treated to more than two minutes of her screentime when she played a Jonas’ love interest in Camp Rock and showed off her singing chops, which she may have honed on Barney (but that’s besides the point). Her own TV series and a stint in a rehab later, Demi has become one of the most talked about Disney stars today.

Emmy Rossum

18. EMMY ROSSUM

Films: Genius (1999)

In the Disney Channel original movie, Rossum played Claire Addison, a sweet and smart high school girl who tutors a boy wonder who was actually already smart enough to get into college before he turned 14. Nowadays, the innocent and oblivious side of Rossum has been cast off as she faces a more daring role in Showtime’s edgy comedy/drama series, Shameless.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

17. JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

TV Show: Kids Incorporated

Before Not Another Teen Movie could even parody her classic slow-mo entrance scene in Can't Hardly Wait, Jennifer Love Hewitt played Robin, a young girl who got to sing and dance songs with runaway princesses and a sassy bicycle (really) on the musical TV show.

Britney Spears

16. BRITNEY SPEARS

TV Show: The All New Mickey Mouse Club

When Britney Spears was just eight years old, she auditioned for the The All New Mickey Mouse Club. The search was for “normal kids with amazing talents, not showbiz kids with agents." Spears had the talent; at the Atlanta audition she beat out around 800 kids for a spot in the show thanks to her dancing ability. Thanks to Mickey Mouse, things like this have happened.

Anne Hathaway

15. ANNE HATHAWAY

Films: The Princess Diaries (2001), The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004)

We'll admit it: we, too, thought Anne Hathaway would always be "that chick that was in The Princess Diaries." Little did we know that she had the ambition to shed her soft Disney ties with her topless scene in the controversial drama Brokeback Mountain. She's gone on to receive an Oscar nod and become one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Alyson Michalka

14. ALYSON MICHALKA

TV Show: Phil of the Future
Films: Now You See It... (2005), Cow Belles (2006)

As Keely, an aspiring news reporter, Michalka always proved to be more interesting than whatever gadgets were brought from the future in Phil of the Future. Plus, we can’t deny the attractiveness of Michalka in Cow Belles, which we’re pretty sure was a tongue-in-cheek way to make fun of Paris Hilton’s reality TV show, The Simple Life.

Maiara Walsh

13. MAIARA WALSH

TV Shows: Cory in the House

Walsh played the daughter of an ambassador to a fictional country, Meena, who stole the hearts of almost all of the boys in Cory in the House. She was the resident pretty-but-unattainable girl of the White House who inadvertently inspired the son of the CIA to try to spy on her. Nowadays, she is breaking out of the Disney mold and appearing in shows such as The Vampire Diaries, which we feel less awkward watching her on.

Christy Carlson Romano

12. CHRISTY CARLSON ROMANO

TV Shows: Even Stevens, Kim Possible
Films: Cadet Kelly (2002), The Even Stevens Movie (2003), Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time (2003), Kim Possible: So the Drama(2005)

Romano, as Ren Stevens, confused our idea of a “perfect woman." She was intelligent, cute, and incredibly neurotic and bossy. Not to mention, she had an animated alter ego who could kick our ass. Even if we never hear from Romano again, we'll still randomly get the Kim Possible theme song stuck in our head from time to time in her memory.

Danielle Panabaker

11. DANIELLE PANABAKER

Films: Stuck in the Suburbs (2004), Sky High (2005), Read it and Weep (2006)

Panabaker has come a long way from being the nerdy girl who trapped a rockstar in suburbia with her in Stuck in the Suburbs and the nerdy girl who was only a sidekick in Sky High. Lately, she's been letting her pigtails down for more mature roles, including her upcoming stint as a witch turned vampire in The Vampire Diaries and a spot in sequel Piranha 3DD.

Raven Symone

10. RAVEN SYMONE

TV Shows: Kim Possible, That’s So Raven
Films: Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (1999), The Cheetah Girls (2003), The Cheetah Girls 2 (2002), The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), College Road Trip (2008)

Despite all of her success with The Cheetah Girls, she can be most proud of the fact That’s So Raven, which ended in 2007, is still Disney’s highest rated and longest-running show. To this day, when we wear an awful disguise to fool someone, we have to shake our heads and sigh, “That’s so Raven.”

Miley Cyrus

9. MILEY CYRUS

TV Show: Hannah Montana
Films: Bolt (2008), Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)

If you told us that Billy Ray “Achy Breaky Heart” Cyrus would have a daughter that's even more famous than he was when his song hit, we would laugh in your face. Alas! Miley’s star power can not be denied. On her show, she lived the best of both worlds: she pretended to be a normal teenager and had a rock star alter ego. That's just like most of our career fantasies.

Adrienne Bailon

8. ADRIENNE BAILON

Films: The Cheetah Girls (2003), The Cheetah Girls 2 (2006), The Cheetah Girls: One World (2008)

After 3LW broke up, we thought Bailon's foray into a Disney channel movie would be the ultimate career killer for the singer. Surprisingly, The Cheetah Girls became one of the company's most successful franchises ever and saved Bailon from fading into utter obscurity.

Ashley Tisdale

7. ASHLEY TISDALE

TV Shows: The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Phineas and Ferb
Films: High School Musical (2006), High School Musical 2 (2007), High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008), Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure (2011), Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension (2011)

As Maddie, Tisdale was always sweeter than the candy she sold on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody. That’s why we love to hate her villainous character Sharpay, from High School Musical and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, so much. The talented actress can also sing, dance and play a diva with a secret heart of gold. Her Disney Starlet Checklist is pretty much complete.

Hilary Duff

6. HILARY DUFF

TV Show: Lizzie McGuire
Films: Cadet Kelly (2002), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003)

We learned a lot from watching Hilary Duff in Lizzie McGuire. We learned that girls are really worried about when they’ll finally get a bra and poor Gordo taught us to fear the friend zone. It’s hard to believe that Duff is pregnant and married now. That makes us feel super old.

Lindsay Lohan

5. LINDSAY LOHAN

Films: The Parent Trap (1998), Life-Size (2000), Get a Clue (2002), Freaky Friday (2003), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005)

Lohan was Disney’s golden girl for years. Thanks to her talent and her adorable freckles they decided to make two of her in The Parent Trap. Seriously, how much did it blow your mind when you found out there was just one Lindsay Lohan? We have a theory that the way she’s acting now is because her evil twin whom Disney tried to hide for years finally broke free.

Camila Belle

4. CAMILLA BELLE

Film: Rip Girls (2000)

Before she was the hot girl that made When a Stranger Calls worth watching, she teenage girl trying get in with Hawaiian locals in Rip Girls. We'll always respect her stunt double character for those surfing skills. The looks are just a bonus.

Christina Milian

3. CHRISTINA MILIAN

TV Show: Movie Surfers

Instead of accepting an offer to appear in the The All New Mickey Mouse Club, Milian took the chance to host Movie Surfers. We would've never guessed that the over-enthuasiastic chick with the poofy hair introducing our G-rated movie would be the same girl to sing and dance around in spanx for a song called "Dip It Low."

Selena Gomez

2. SELENA GOMEZ

TV Show: Wizards of Waverly Place
Films: Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009)

Despite her magical abilities in Wizards of Waverly Place, Gomez didn’t need to cast a spell to make us adore her. While she was a "Disney star," Gomez's Alex Russo wasn't the network's typical goodie-goodie character. She was impressively sassy and had the ability insult someone without batting an eye. Personally, we find that pretty endearing.

Vanessa Hudgens

1. VANESSA HUDGENS

Films: High School Musical (2006), High School Musical 2 (2007), High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)

Before her nude photo scandal, Vanessa Hudgens was simply the High School Musical franchise's precious new girl in town, Gabriella Montez. She and then-boyfriend Zac Efron rose to House of Mouse royalty as the prom king and queen of the channel. Fast forward a few years later and you've got the photo shoot above, a single Hudgens and a peculiar collection of her films like Sucker Punch and Beastly to her name.
