Timur Bekmambetov and producer Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's 2010 mash-up novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is shaping up nicely. After signing Benjamin Walker (Flags Of Our Fathers) to play Honest Abe, Latino Review drops dime that Australian newcomer Robin McLeavy is reportedly locked to star as Mary Todd. Todd, just in case you repeatedly flunked history classes, was Lincoln's wife.

Although word is not yet official (her reps denied the confirmation, but did say she's in the running), McLeavy would join Walker, Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie as they emancipate the world of blood-sucking nightstalkers. While Vampire Hunter isn't necessarily the most historically accurate portrayal of our 16th president, you can't help but to be curious about what the darkside has to offer.

Festival-attending horror fans may recognize McLeavy from Aussie writer-director Sean Byrne's buzz-worthy horror film The Loved Ones, which is still without a firm American release plan, but hopefully one finalizes soon; we've seen The Loved Ones, and it's great balls-to-the-wall fun, as is McLeavy's unhinged psycho-chick performance (which you can see a glimpse of in the pic above).

Shooting will begin shortly with Bekmambetov (whose last film was 2008's Angelina Jolie/James McAvoy action hit Wanted) aiming for a June 22, 2012 release date.
