Andy Samberg shared that he and the rest of his Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast are amazed by Terry Crews, after he gave testimony to U.S. senators on Tuesday, advocating for the expansion of the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights.

“We have a cast text chain and we were all texting him how incredible it was,” Samberg told Page Six. “He’s a miracle. Terry’s the best guy,” Samberg added. “I am proud to know him.”

Crews testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, detailing his personal experience with sexual misconduct: in 2016, where he was groped by Hollywood agent Adam Venit during an industry event. Crews filed a lawsuit against Venit last December.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein asked Crews why he didn't physically fight the man who assaulted him. Crews explained that his wife Rebecca has helped him understand the advantage of not engaging in violence, particularly as a black man.

However, not everyone has been so supportive of Crews. On Tuesday, 50 Cent shared a now-deleted, insensitive Instagram post in which he mocked Crews’ sexual assault claims against Venit.

“LOL … Terry: I froze in fear. They would have had to take me to jail. …,” the Instagram caption read.

On Thursday, Fif discussed his comments with The Associated Press. “You know what? When you put LOL behind any statement, it means you’re laughing out loud. That means it’s a joke. That’s it. Sometimes journalists leave those things out.”
