As Super Mario Bros. celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, creator Shigeru Miyamoto was at E3 where he pointed out a little bit of genius design that went into the first level of the original Nintendo game to Business Insider.
Basically, every brick, mushroom and goomba happens for a reason.
Miyamoto has been out talking about the game ahead of the release of Super Mario Maker, the upcoming game that will allow people to design their own Mario Bros. levels. It comes out on the Wii U in September.
