New dash cam video released by authorities in South Carolina shows the traffic stop that came just before the shooting of Walter Scott.
The footage, which comes from the police cruiser of former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager, shows Slager pulling over Scott's Mercedes and briefly questioning him about his insurance and registration. Shortly after Slager returns to his cruiser, Scott is seen getting out of the Mercedes and gesturing to him before Slager orders him to get back in the car.
Moments after that, Scott makes a run for it and disappears off camera.
Slager has been charged with murder for what happened next. A witness captured a cell phone video that shows Slager shooting Scott in the back as Scott runs away from him. Slager claimed that Scott took his Taser, however the eyewitness account and the video show no evidence of that.
